Buzzing with ideas and always on the lookout for a new film project... this is Nóra Lakos.

Nóra studies film direction in Budapest at the Hungarian Film Academy, with her most recent film being Coming Soon (2006), a short film that was shown at the 38the Hungarian Film week and Mediawave 2007 festivals. The Trick's End (2005) was also presented at the Hungarian Film Week, and numerous Hungarian film festivals and events.

Nóra was production manager for a made for television documentary titled 56ers (working title) for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, a production created on the 50th anniversary of the Hungarian uprising of 1956.

Nóra was also the director of the SZEMezz - International Short Film Festival, an open air multidisciplinary festival that took place in 2005 and 2006.

Nóra Lakos has also directed
several short films, including Plaza (1998), Wait! (1999), Mulik, de nem annyira (1999), Babu (2001), Napszemüveg (2001), Keresd! (2002) and Servatultetes (2002).

Lakos is also co-author the 6th edition of the guide book Frommer's Budapest & the Best of Hungary, prepared for the global publisher, Wiley Publishing.


Nóra Lakos covered the political and media spheres for the Hungarian daily Népszava for some three years, and continues to write articles of cultural themes. Lakos completed a communications and English degree at the Kodolányi János College in Székesfehervár, and studied at the communication faculty of the József Attila Tudomány University in Szeged, Hungary. Nóra also worked for the Hungarian Kossuth and Vörösmarty radios, in addition to completing practicum at TV3 and Hungarian Television (MTV).

Lakos was regular contributor to the Budapest-based international monthly, DT - Diplomacy and Trade, and Business Hungary, a publication producted in association with the American Chamber of Commerce in Hungary.

On her free time, Nora dances, rides horses, and organizes cultural festivals!
