As the country boasting the world's most expensive city for foreigners, a wealth of lavish landmarks and a rapidly expanding group of visible free spenders, Russia is emerging as a growing market for moneyed outbound tourism. Year-on-year Russia's nouveau-riche are growing in numbers, and the millionaire and billionaire strata are a growing sector for luxury travel. The result is a further influence on both the inbound and outbound travel and tourism.
Tapping into the staggering growth
of the newly rich in emerging markets such as Russia is becoming an imperative
marketing objective for luxury goods and exclusive travel companies.
Launched in 2006 as Russia's only travel-trade fair for deluxe travel, LUXURY
Leisure - International Trade Fair for Luxury Travel provides local and international
suppliers of luxury travel and tourism products and services the platform to
promote their offerings to selected, high-net-worth buyers from Russia and all
over the world.
In its third year, LUXURY Leisure is now well-established as a prominent business and networking forum for the world's leading luxury segment players, and an important launching pad for novel industry operators in the region.
This annual three-day fair takes place on September 23-25 in the massive 1,500 square meter IEC "Crocus Expo" exhibition space. It offers a unique opportunity for first-class travel specialists, boutique and design hotels, luxury tour operators, private villas and serviced apartments, airlines, luxury golf and spa hotels and exclusive resorts to meet their partners to conduct business.
In 2007, the market attracted a total of 81 exhibiting companies from 20 countries and regions of the world, including representation from India, Switzerland, France, Austria, Monaco, Chile, Mauritius, Latvia, Vietnam and Great Britain. The fair also drew a record-breaking 7,500 visitors.
Organized to the highest industry standards, LUXURY Leisure will run concurrently with "Otdykh-Leisure", the largest autumn trade fair for travel and tourism that has been organized for the fourteenth consecutive year, as well as the international trade fair for Meeting Industry and Business Travel "Mibexpo".
This year's edition of LUXURY Leisure
will again include a comprehensive parallel program, with the "Spa &
Health Moscow", the 4th International Conference for Health Tourism, Resorts
and SPA on September 24. This one-day conference and workshop brings together
the movers and shakers of the spa industry who examine the hottest trends, technological
innovations and consumer of the international spa and wellness industry.
